PlanARouteLite serves as a practical application for designing and recording multi-stop itineraries across various modes of transportation, including driving, walking, and cycling. Its primary strength lies in providing comprehensive directions extending from point A to point Z, rather than merely between two locations.

The software encompasses most features present in the full version of PlanARoute, with notable limitations: it restricts route creation to a maximum of five locations; it does not support email exchange for routes; it lacks the capability to plot locations from photographs; it permits only one saved route at a time; and it does not allow saving locations to favorites or contacts.

This tool proves useful for planning or documenting tours and other complex, multi-stop journeys. It includes two sample routes—one of New York City and another of Central Park—that showcase its functionalities. These examples offer a straightforward way to familiarize oneself with the application's interface and capabilities, serving as templates for developing personalized routes without the necessity of mastering intricate software features.
